Circles

"Tall ships and tall kings,
Three times three.
What brought they from the foundered land,
Over the flowing sea?
Seven stars and seven stones
And one white tree."

Open, close, remember the way. This verse sings through my head today. What does it mean to the untold reality of the world? It is a gift, a verse of longing, of remembrance, memory of our forgotten past...what have we brought from the foundered land? Seven words of wisdom, and a promise to be kept, and a shining world awakening in our hearts at the other end of the circle. Do you know what I mean? I speak of an echo, a roundabout way of speaking to our secret longings, locked up in the long ago. We are there, and we are here, and we must tie the two ends together with love and reconciliation. We are at the crossroads of the ages, and we are what we were longing for. Do you hear what I am saying? I am a voice of the ancient promise, whispered on the wind, waiting for the day to break...waking up and letting go...falling down and finding freedom.
